‘Don’t say you’ve a brilliant product – get others to say it for you’

Share

Have you ever noticed that the more a salesman tells you how good their product is, the more you don’t believe them?

It’s basic human nature. Rolls Royce don’t have to take out massive ads. to sell the cars. They virtually sell themselves thanks to a worldwide reputation.

And have you ever noticed that friends who have bought a new TV, car, furniture or vacation can’t wait to tell you about it? It’s part of our human make-up that we need to show off our possessions and want others to confirm that we have made the right decision.

And if you trust your friends and their judgment, how often have you gone right out and bought the same product too?

It’s the same with Internet marketing. You can tell people you have a great product until you are blue in the face. It’ll count for diddly-squat to the vast majority.

What you need are others doing it for you – so how do you do that?

It’s very easy to get testimonials for your product. Just go to a relevant newsgroup and announce that you have 10 products to give away FREE in exchange for an honest review of what people really think of it. Tell them that you plan to use the reviews as testimonials on your web site too. Or contact some of your previous buyers and ask the same.

Each time I have done this I have received a testimonial from every reviewer and they have always been positive. Put the testimonial on your web site, without much editing, and your in business.

It doesn’t matter if there are a few tiny criticisms of your product- they all add to the honesty with which you are marketing. I noticed sales of my own e-book “The Secrets of Stock Market Success” (www.newsdata.org) rocket after adding a few genuine testimonials.

This can work the other way too. I sent an unsolicited testimonial to Sunil Tanna after buying his brilliant e-book authoring software Active E-book Compiler. He published the testimonial with my name and web address and suddenly I started to get traffic off his web site (http://hop.clickbank.net/?snichols/wildcom2). I hadn’t planned the link but it was a great bonus

So if you are trying to sell more products, get others to sell them for you – it’s free, it’s ethical and it works.
