America Online and Entertainment Weekly have joined forces to launch “5 to Watch”–a new, original weekly series that provides a fast-and-furious review of the best bets on television.

Entertainment Weekly senior editor Kristen Baldwin and senior writer Dalton Ross co-host the show, offering a unique, insightful and humorous look at the shows that are truly worth watching on TV. “5 to Watch”–best viewed via AOL for Broadband–can be seen now within AOL Television.

“At AOL Television, our goal is to enhance our members’ TV viewing experience though entertaining and engaging online video programming,” said Patricia Karpas, Vice President and General Manager of AOL Television. “‘5 to Watch’ serves that mission perfectly by providing expert insights in an innovative and fun format. We’re thrilled to offer this weekly programming to our AOL and AOL for Broadband members.”

“Teaming with AOL lets us give online consumers an opportunity to experience Kristen’s and Dalton’s signature wit and insights. There’s nothing like ‘5 to Watch’ on television,” said Sandy Drayton, Vice President of Communications and Television Development, Entertainment Weekly. “Just as our readers have made EW part of their weekly routine, we know AOL and AOL for Broadband members will come to look forward to hearing from Kristen and Dalton each week about the best shows on TV.”

As all real TV fans do, Kristen and Dalton will celebrate the television medium while not hesitating to make fun of it. The show’s first episode spotlights popular stalwarts “The Apprentice” (NBC) and “Survivor” (CBS), along with newcomers “Lost” (ABC), “Veronica Mars” (UPN), and “Renovate My Family” (FOX). Kristen and Dalton also pay tribute to the Primetime Emmy Awards by presenting their own series of television awards in some unconventional categories. Future episodes will address vital TV topics such as “TV Crush of the Week” and “TV Tangent of the Week.”
