Yahoo Helps Connect Webmasters And Search

Yahoo has been making an effort to be more available to webmasters everywhere by offering online help and resources, and a way to submit feedback to the Yahoo Search team.

Rajat Mukherjee of Yahoo Search provided a brief post on ways Yahoo can help webmasters learn more and get assistance with issues related to Yahoo’s search capabilities.

Webmasters should be familiar with Yahoo’s Site Explorer tool. This permits them to explore all the pages Yahoo has indexed from the web. Site Explorer also shows the inlinks to a URL, and webmasters can see who is pointing to their URLs.

More information about Yahoo Search can be obtained from its online help pages. Many of the topics there discuss how to use Yahoo’s various search products, like Local and Video, but there is one webmasters will want to view, the appropriately named Webmaster Resources.

That link leads to topics like Search Content Guidelines and the Yahoo Search Blog as well as the Site Explorer and resources on Search Marketing. Yahoo has also placed a link to the feedback form that delivers webmaster comments to the search team.

The form replaces the email address Yahoo had used for some time to collect feedback. While they may not answer every bit of feedback submitted, Mukherjee wrote that they do pay attention to what comes in from webmasters.
