Oodle Launches Classified Search Engine For College Students

Attention college students: are you tired of the never-ending hunt for potential careers and other classified-related searches? Do you need a tool that can make these tasks easier to accomplish? If so, Oodle may just be the site you are looking for.

Oodle.com is the self-described search engine for local classified ads that features a brand new service designed to make various transitions easier for college students. The Oodle College service contains over 2 million listings from services like Craigslist, eBay, and Monster, as well as local and college publications.

The Oodle college service provides listings for over 100 college campuses and users can also suggest a college that is not currently listed. Oodle co-founder and vice president Faith Sedlin had this to say about the company’s new college service:

We’re excited about the college market. Students are always looking for deals and are online daily. They especially like how much time and money Oodle saves them by being able to browse all the listings in their area at once.

With Oodle’s college classified search service, users can do the following:

  • See it all. Oodle enables students to easily see listings from most sources near their campus on items ranging from used textbooks to foosball tables.
  • Get it first. More than 2 million new listings are posted each week and hot items move quickly. Oodle Alerts enables students to see listings minutes after they are posted. A user simply describes what he wants, and Oodle emails them relevant listings as soon as they become available.
  • Browse by Map. Students can use maps to browse listings around their campus. When a user selects a map area, only listings associated with this area are displayed. If he drags the map to a different area, a new set of listings is shown.
  • Give Locally. Oodle offers extensive information on local charities and volunteer opportunities making it easy to donate old furniture or to find the perfect internship.
  • To keep their service as fresh and comprehensive as possible, Oodle plans to include additional colleges and universities on a weekly basis.
