Microsofts Ten-Year-Old Pakistani Genius

Arfa Karim Randhawa has been getting a lot of press lately as Microsoft’s youngest Certified Professional at just ten years of age.

Todd Bishop, Popgadget, and the Pakistani Daily Times all have articles on the young lady, who actually passed Microsoft’s certification program at the age of nine, and got to meet Bill Gates this week.

Arfa presented Gates with a poem about his life story, and asked him why there was not an equal number of men and women working at Microsoft. While there are legitimate reasons, having more to do with the goals men and women set for themselves in the United States (rather than a conscious Microsoft decision), it still bears mentioning that the young prodigy also asked why there were no children working at Microsoft.

Todd mentions in his blog that the folks at Slashdot are having some fun with their versions of a Bill Gates biographical poem, and that an audio MP3 of the poem is here.

* # – There once was a man from Nantucket
Who told all the world to suck it
Selling insecure code
He sure was a chode
And his ethics could not fill a bucket
* # – I stole stuff from Jobs.
And now I own Microsoft.
Holy crap I’m rich.
