SEO Wars Rage on with Googles New Search For Enterprise

Search engines, the current frontier. These are the voyages of the Google Desktop Search for Enterprise . It’s latest mission, to explore strange emails, to seek out new Lotus Notes and new spreadsheets, to boldly go where no search tool has gone before.

This latest offering from Google is the next shot across the bow of the SEO wars that continue to heat up between MSN, Yahoo and current industry leader Google.

“Finding information quickly in business is more than a convenience – it’s a necessity,” said Dave Girouard, general manager of Google’s enterprise business. “With the addition of Google Desktop Search for Enterprise, businesses of all sizes can offer their employees one-stop Google search for the desktop, intranet, or web.”

The tool will save time for users by searching through emails and other files from the desktop for various items like Adobe PDF or Excel files. Google Desktop Search for Enterprise also offers full integration with the Google Search Appliance and Google Mini to deliver search results and convenient one-stop-searching from the desktop, intranet and Google.com.

“E-mail has evolved beyond messaging into a tool where people manage their activities and store critical business information,” said Ken Bisconti, vice president of Workplace, Portal and Collaboration Software, IBM. “With Google Desktop Search for the Enterprise , we are giving more than 118 million Lotus Notes users greater flexibility in searching for critical business information stored on their desktop.”

What does the future hold for the SEO Wars? Tune in next time and find out.
