Oracle Simplifies Electronic Message Exchange

Share

To help companies and their suppliers rapidly achieve real-time system integration, Oracle introduced the Oracle Supplier Network.

This is an Internet-based service that enables customers to dramatically simplify electronic message exchange with suppliers and streamline procurement transactions.

Oracle Supplier Network customers will benefit from rapid on-boarding, a single connection point to a community of suppliers, and the flexibility to automate much of the routine paperwork associated with procure-to-pay business processes. Already in use by selected customers for several months, Oracle Supplier Network eliminates the cost of maintaining expensive point-to-point connections between customers and their suppliers.

“We’re a global information company that provides market-moving, breaking news to investors around the world,” said Adam J. Boczkowski, architect, Chief Information Office, Reuters Ltd. “We required an electronic transaction delivery network that could support our high volume of transactions. Oracle Supplier Network provides us with that solution and reinforces what others have come to expect from us — swift results.”

Oracle Supplier Network provides a complete set of services for the routing, translation and delivery of important XML-based electronic commerce transactions, such as purchase orders, ship notices and invoices. Customers connect once to the Oracle Supplier Network, and the network automatically routes the procurement transactions to the supplier.

Already on the Oracle Supplier Network and available to customers is a pre-enabled community of top-tier suppliers including Corporate Express, HP, Kelly Services, OfficeMax(R), and Staples. All Oracle Procurement customers and their suppliers can join the Oracle Supplier Network.

“With the Oracle Supplier Network we’ve been able to increase our electronic transaction volumes to help us shorten customer integration lead times and lower processing costs,” said Evan Coats, Director of Web Services at Corporate Express, one of the world’s largest business-to-business suppliers of office and computer products and services. “Managing a single connection point allows us to integrate with a broader base of Oracle customers at a lower cost.”

Once registered, companies can complete their account setup, establish their transaction delivery preferences and quickly ramp trading partner relationships with minimal to no IT involvement. With a comprehensive Transaction Monitor for both test and production transactions, Oracle Supplier Network members can track and ensure delivery of all business documents. Oracle Supplier Network provides private, secure transaction management with trading partners of every size and level of sophistication.

Oracle Supplier Network is hosted at the Oracle data centers in Austin, Texas.
