Compuware to Host Free IT Executive Briefings in Eleven Cities

Executive Briefings to Feature Proven Techniques for IT Organizations to Assess Service Impact of Changes Throughout Application Life Cycle, Deliver Higher Levels of Service and Face Evolving Business Demands.

Compuware today announced it will host free IT executive briefings in eleven cities featuring executives from Compuware and analysts from Gartner, Inc. The briefings will highlight proven techniques to help IT organizations assess the service impact of changes before the applications go live.

The half-day sessions — geared toward executive IT management including CIOs, vice presidents, IT directors and business application owners — will be held in Minneapolis; Atlanta; Madison, Wisconsin; Columbus, Ohio; Washington, D.C.; Houston; New York; Phoenix; Detroit; Toronto and Chicago from October 5-27, 2004.

Executives from all industries are invited to attend the briefings, where they can network with senior Gartner analysts, Compuware executives and their peers. Each session will feature a presentation by a Gartner analyst focusing on effective IT service management through managing business-oriented end-to- end IT services. Gartner will provide strategies for successfully meeting service requirements, aligning with the business through IT service management and understanding the role of pre-production planning in assuring IT service performance and availability.

Additionally, experts from Compuware will present proven techniques that help IT organizations assess the service impact of changes, including how to obtain insight into the costs and impact of various alternatives for informed decision-making. Compuware Vantage helps IT organizations to manage application service from the end user perspective — but it also goes even further, helping assure service excellence by managing the impact of application and infrastructure projects as well as changing business workloads.

“Many organizations have already realized the importance of aligning IT services with business requirements,” said Debra Curtis, Research Vice President at Gartner, Inc. “Now is the time to reap productivity and efficiency rewards by laying the groundwork for IT service management success earlier in the application lifecycle.”

“Compuware has teamed up with Gartner to design briefings that help IT organizations understand how critical IT service management is throughout the entire application lifecycle,” said Larry Angeli, Vice President of Marketing, Compuware. “This is a valuable opportunity for participants to learn from experts about extending a service management approach into the pre-production environment to effectively address evolving business demands.”
