Biz Stone, Google employee for Blogger.com, has announced that Blogger members will now be able to display AdSense ads within their personal blog space. Biz and Google are presenting the new feature as a “Get Paid For Blogging” opportunity. News of this was first revealed on by Biz on his personal Blog.
According to Biz, this feature is not restricted to Blogger members. “Please note that this program is optional and that it is not required for you to have a Blogger powered blog-all bloggers are invited.” He provides a link to Google’s AdSense page that features an image of the Blogger logo.
Implementing AdSense ads into your blog will be an easy task. The process is simply one of cutting and pasting code that Google provides for you. Biz also offers some guidelines that members should follow, unless they want to be penalized for AdSense fraud. These guidelines are as follows:
Things Not To Do
– Don’t come up with sneaky ways to click on your own ads or get your friends to help you. This is considered fraud.
– Don’t draw unnecessary attention to your ads. Even posting text that says “please click on these ads” is against the policy.
– Don’t share how much you’ve earned. That’s going to be hard for lots of bloggers but it is against the terms and conditions and will get you kicked out.
– Don’t fiddle around with the AdSense code. You’ve got to leave it the way it is if you want to get paid.
Members can customize the look of the ads that will be displayed. Google provides a WYSIWYG editor in order to assist in this process. Read more about Google’s AdSense here.
