DVD Player Doesn’t Display Images

Question: I have a Sony Vaio running Win ME. I have installed a CreativeCD DVD player. The software will recognize the name of the DVD inserted, but I cannot get any video to appear. When I press “play,” the counter starts as if the DVD were playing normally.

Can you suggest something?

It sounds as though your DVD playing software has become corrupt. I would recommend re-installing the DVD playing software. If you no longer have the software, you can download the trial version of PowerDVD and if it solves your problem, you’ll either need to buy the full version of the software or contact Sony’s technical support to find out how you can re-install the DVD software that was included with your PC.
