Since we are already on the subject of Photoshop, how about a tutorial to help make 3D backgrounds for your Flash Movies? Notice how a lot of Flash developers have those great random 3D backgrounds? Well you can create this effect using Photoshop 7.0. Yup that’s right! Photoshop!
Ok, now this tutorial is going to be short and sweet, so don’t blink.
Open a new file the size that you want. I started with 400 X 400 just so I could see the finished product on my screen without having to scroll. Add a new layer and fill it with the color you want to work with.You can use images as well to give it a glass type fill depending on how you move and shape the 3D objects.
Now with the layer you filled selected go to Filter > Render > 3D Transform. This will open up a dialog box that looks something like this
Now with the Square too Draw several rectangular shapes like this:

Now with the “Direct Selection Tool” AKA the White pointer, grab the top of one of the rectangles and move it. to the left or right.
Play with the rectangles till you get the shape you want. Mine ended up looking like this:

Now to give it more 3d definition take your “Trackball Tool” and rotate the 3d object.If you want to make your shapes completely 3D without the image showing through rotate them all the way around.
