Google and Yahoo seem to be continuing to try to outdo each other in the email department, particularly in recent weeks. While last we checked, Yahoo still dominated the market share in the email category, Google seems to be doing everything it can to move in on that territory. They’ve been rolling Gmail features left and right.
Today, Google is encouraging Gmail users to spend some of their holiday vacation time tinkering around with some of these new Gmail features. Zach Yeskel, Product Marketing Manager highlights the following at the Official Gmail Blog:

They’ve been cranking the features out, particularly in the last part of this year, and makes me wonder how much stuff they’re going to give us in the New Year. It also makes me wonder how much Yahoo will do to cement itself as the dominant of the two entities on the email front. I think it is safe to say we can expect some great new features from both.
