Stickam Sticks’em With PayPerLive

I’m going to tell you a story, and I want you to think about which obvious angle I’m leaving out. I bet you’ll be able to nail it.

Stickam.com, a social networking site that offers a combinative experience with chat, MySpace-ish profile features, and YouTube quality live webcam feeds, photos, and user-generated video, announced today the beta launch of PayPerLive, a platform allowing Stickam users to charge viewers for access to their webcam feeds.

Famed podcaster Leo Laporte is often featured on Stickam, along with Danny Bonnaduce, Tila Tequila, American Idol’s early-ousted Danny Noriega, and Chris Crocker, of leave-Britney-alone YouTube fame.

In the spirit of user-generated mania, though, Stickam is not limited to the temporarily or quasi-famous; anybody can have their very own live show, including any one of a number of young girls who have already trademarked their on-cam names by the age of 14.

And now, thanks to PayPerLive, they can make money, too. Stickam sees lots of different kinds of professionals using the service once out of beta, including comedians, consultants, bands, alumni associations, teachers and fundraisers. There are probably other professions that could use it, but I can’t think of any either.

“We are excited to allow groups and individuals to leverage our live streaming platform to host fun and informative events,” said Steven Fruchter*, Stickam.com CEO, in a statement.

Stickam performers can set the price for access to their shows, payable via PayPal, and Stickam, as their digital agent, takes a 25 percent cut.

And that’s totally pimp right? That is the slang for cool these days, correct? Yeah, totally pimp.

*. . .Never mind. Too easy.
