Google’s ‘Website Workout Contest’

According to the Google Press Center, Google has announced the launch of the ‘Website Workout Contest’ at the SMX Advanced Conference in Seattle, Washington. This contest has been devised to help Webmasters who are looking to make their websites more efficient and thereby give a boost to their businesses. This contest is confined to the United States only. Any Webmaster can enter the contest and get a page of his website optimized for free by Google consultants, thus enabling the person to boost his sales, sign-ups and leads. All interested Webmasters can register for the contest by visiting the Website Workout contest website. To give you a clearer view of what the contest is all about, here is a video for you all:

In the coming weeks, Google will select four of the businesses that enter. Using Google Website Optimizer, Google’s free website-testing tool, the consultants will then work with the winners to test which combination of text, images, graphics and other content drives the most business.

For those of you, who do not want to go through the channels of selection, there is another option through which you can fine tune your websites. Visit the Google Web Optimizer page, a free Google website-testing tool designed specifically for optimization of websites and you self-tune your website.

However, I would recommend that you should take part in the contest, because the use of Google Web Optimizer, coupled with the professional advice from the Google consultants, will do wonder for your website.
