Telemundo has announced that it will make entire episodes of its prime-time shows and novelas available on Yahoo Telemundo Web site the morning after the original broadcast.
“This new content broadens Yahoo! Telemundo’s cadre of video offerings and enhances our users’ experience by giving them another way to watch, share and enjoy their favorite shows,” said Jose Rivera Font, general manager, Yahoo! Hispanic Americas.
“As the online video space continues to emerge, we look forward to continuing to add high quality video content for all U.S. Hispanics to enjoy.”
The new video features include complete novelas along with behind the scenes footage of its original production and actors. Visitors to the site will be able to participate in Yahoo Telemundo Grupos (Groups) where they can post and share comments with other fans and Yahoo Telemundo Respuestas (Answers) where they can ask questions about the shows, actors and story lines.
Telemundo executives said that the new offering is the first time that Spanish language broadcasts have been offered to U.S. viewers in this format. “As part of our 360 multi-platform strategy, we are proud to be the first Spanish-language network to provide our viewers with full-length original programming online on Yahoo! Telemundo,” said Peter Blacker, Senior Vice President Digital Media, Telemundo.
“Never before has our audience had this level of access to our hit shows and novelas and we are thrilled to be able to deliver it to them whenever they want it.”
