Veoh Creates Channel For Presidential Hopeful

Veoh Networks, an Internet Television broadcaster and Senator John McCain have teamed to launch the Senator John McCain Channel. The channel will feature a video diary from the campaign trail, including speeches, tour stops and messages to his supporters.

The channel will also have videos detailing the Senator’s position on issues ranging from government spending to the war in Iraq, along with a biographical look at the Senator. The McCain campaign plans to upload full speeches and videos to the channel that will be in DVD-quality.

Political junkies and supporters of the Senator can subscribe to the latest videos from the McCain campaign trail. With the video subscription users will be able watch video on their computers or television using the Veoh Player. They also have the option of transferring their videos to their iPods for additional viewing.

One of the main reasons the McCain campaign choose to work with Veoh is because of their automatic syndication and reporting features that enable them to reach a large audience on the Web. The campaign can upload videos to Veoh and syndicate them to major video sites such as YouTube, Google Video, MySpace and Facebook.

When a video is published the McCain campaign can also monitor their audiences across major video Web sites and gauge the effectiveness of the campaigns message.

“We think Internet video will have a dramatic impact on the 2008 presidential race,” said Dmitry Shapiro, CEO of Veoh, “As a result, we are delighted to supply our powerful video broadcast and community-building suite to the McCain campaign, including our ability to automatically distribute videos uploaded at Veoh.com to millions of additional viewers at other major video distribution sites.”
